In a bizarre partnership that breaks traditional expectations, Ubisoft has announced an digital partnership between Assassin's Creed Shadows and the popular anime series Attack on Titan. The unexpected holiday event runs from November 25 through December 22, providing no-cost bonus story content for Shadows players.

Strange Mission Uncovered

According to the official release, "A strange encounter pulls characters Naoe and Yasuke into a new adventure, where rumors of banned ceremonies and terrifying changes resonate through the darkness." The narrative features a "unusually dressed woman named Ada" who assigns the pair with venturing into the Crystalline Cavern—a key location from Attack on Titan—to rescue her friend from a clandestine cult.

The mission concentrates on "peculiar experiments and a monstrous adversary" and is open to all players who have acquired the Yasuke character.

Familiar Places and Metamorphoses

The trailer features the Subterranean Sanctuary from Attack on Titan redesigned as the Crystal Cave. This important location was earlier where the Reiss royal family transmitted the Founding Titan ability through eras. The teaser finishes with a striking sequence showing a character, probably the hostage, changing into a Titan that looms over Naoe and Yasuke.

Special Rewards and Extra Content

Players who finish the mission will acquire an unique katana in addition to multiple objects secreted throughout the area in concealed chests. The update also includes in-store Attack on Titan item packs, including:
